Ok so I am 13 years old and would like to be a photographer and work at one of my local camera shops I'm going into high school and was wondering what would be some helpful classes to take to help me in what I want to become please help me I know it is hard to become a pro photographer but what are some tips you have I only own the Nikon d3100 with a flash battery grip a couple of lenses and other a acceroies I know that is not good enought to be a pro photographer but I have no job but I like keeping up with new things in photography and just like helping people in photography so it is my dream job to work at a photography store is this a good enought dream

Is Portus Digital safe?

I've found my dream camera at a price I can afford (I'm 14 and I've spent so long saving up I don't want to lose my money!) It's on 'Portus Digital' ( http://portusdigital-px.rtrk.co.uk/nikon-d5100-dslr-camera-18-55mm-vr-lens.html ) I'm asking anyone who has ever ordered from there, so please don't tell me it's safe if you haven't even heard of them.
I've looked online but I can't find any personal opinions, so, has any one ever ordered online from Portus Digital? If so, did you receive your order?

What Am I doing wrong with the 50mm 1.8 lens?

Outside yesterday it showed EE or EEF I think. Shutter wouldn't budge. Fiddled around with aperture etc, then worked perfect. Nikon 50mm 1.8, D AF. Yes D90 is on AF. Instruction sheet I found poor.It only shows how to connect it to camera.It connects just like lenses for film cameras 35 yrs ago.

Added (2). Thanks to photoace I now know what I'm doing wrong. Never thought about looking in camera's manual to find out anything about lens.

Help with camera focusing for DSLR?

I'm on a weight loss program and I'm wanting to take weekly pictures against me on the wall however, my camera is not being very cooperative.

I have it aimed on a wall in our guest room and when I set the timer for a shot the camera would focus in and it would focus out and nothing will happen. I tried to open the blinds for superior lighting and it also did not work.

The only way it will work if I place my hand in front of the camera then it'll start the sequence but the picture would be very blurry.

It's a Nikon D40

Which digital SLR camera is best for me?

I have some experience in photography and using SLR cameras. I want to get back into it, and I am looking to upgrade my old slr camera for a digital one. I have read many reviews but I am stuck trying to figure out which would be the best for me. I originally planned on purchasing the Nikon D5000 because I have read that it is best for someone who is serious about photography but also relatively new to dslr, which is exactly what I want. However, now I know that it is being discontinued and that the D3100 would be it's replacement I guess? I am so confused. I want a good quality camera like the Nikon 5000 which was also more in my price range and more for someone starting out where I am. Should I go for the D3100 or just try and find the D5000?

Where can i get cheap nikkor lenses?

Does anyone know of a more..uncommon website that sells nikkor lenses, or any other lenses that will work with a nikon D90 and/or nikon D5000? A site that sells them for quite a bit cheaper, and brand new too. A real website please, no scams or anything.

Nikon d5000 video seems grainy?

When I try to film using my d5000 I noticed that when im shooting video it sometimes looks a little grainy, and not as "HD" or clear as it should. How do i fix this? What settings do i need to change? and what.
