Need help with point and shoot camera choice?

I have a 5 year old Canon Powershot SD990 (14.7 Mega Pixels with a 3.7 Zoom) It's ok, but I wanted to upgrade it for an upcoming vacation. I know I'll have to give up having a viewfinder with the new cameras. The newer cameras appear to be significantly lighter and less clunky, which I like.

I only use my camera for pictures, not for videos. I've always had good luck with Canon cameras and Canon software, so I'd like to stay with Canon. I've tried Sony and Nikon in the past, but my Canons are always the ones I go back to.

I don't want to use AA batteries. I do use the zoom feature for kids' sporting events, graduations, etc., but otherwise I pretty much leave the camera on Automatic. I take pictures both outside and inside our home, and rely on the camera's flash & automatic settings in low light. I would like to be able to enlarge photos to 8X10, and maybe even a little larger. I'd like to keep the cost under $350.

Can you suggest a camera for me? Should I try to go to a 16.1 or higher mega pixel? Is a 5X Zoom enough, or should I go with something more?

Nikon D5200 - A good camera for me?

Hey everyone! If you know anything about photography/cameras, I could really use and appreciate your wisdom! (: For the work I am stepping into for the music industry (promotions, designing, social media, etc), the time has come for me to finally invest in a good camera to show the world what I got. I want a camera that's really going to complement my image taking abilities and something that will provide me with crisp/impressive shots with decent detail to edit on Photoshop. I'll be using it to capture photos at concerts, entertainment events, press, little photoshoots for bands, etc. A camera that I was looking at was Nikon's D5200. I want to make sure that these pictures turn out as great as possible, and are pretty professional quality. The cameras I've used over the years have really taken away from my eye for shots, and I'd like to step up from that. For example: If I'm at a concert and take a picture of a band member on drums, the image would often come out quite blurry/smooshed from all the fast movements- which isn't awesome, haha. I really want something that will be more efficient and I can rely on for whatever I'm doing, wherever I am.Do you think this camera would be a good way to go, and get the job done for what I'm looking for once I get in the swing of things? All feedback is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Good wideangle zoom to go with a Nikon D5200?

I think the crop factor is 1.5?

The perspective I want is roughly 24 - 70mm so with the crop factor that will be about 16 - 46mm

… but I would prefer a fairly wide max aperture (not f4.5 - f5.6 more like f2.8 / f3.5) and image stabilized would be good too.

Any suggestions ?

Will an actual Nikon lens fit on a Nikkormat FT?

I am thinking of purchasing a Nikkormat FT in the near future, but before I do I need to know something: will a more modern Nikon Lens fit on it? E. g.: Zoom-Nikkor 35~80mm f/4~f/5.6D.
Thanks for the answer!

Is it good the brand new Vivitar V3800 35mm Reflex that Walmart is selling?

A couple of years ago I would have believed that the Nikon FM 10 was the only 'brand new' Reflex film camera in the market… However, these days Walmart is offering the Vivitar V3800 as a cheap option to the FM 10. I've always wanted to own a brand new reflex film camera and this seems to be a good chance, but who is behind this camera, I mean who makes it and what can I expect from this camera?
Thank you so much for any comment Photoguys!

Nikon D3100 Water-Proof HOUSING/CASE?

So, I am going to go to Disney World with my family in the Summer 2013, and I am planning on purchasing the Nikon D3100. However, since I will be visiting Disney World, there will be some water rides. I plan on taking my camera on majority of rides, and film. So, I was wondering if there was any waterproof case, or anything for a cheap price. I am a beginner, therefore I do not have ANY experience… Thanks & Have a great day!

Sony NEX vs Nikon D5100?

I'm looking to upgrade my camera and have narrowed it down to a D5100, NEX-F3, or NEX-5N. A NEX-6 would be ideal, but I don't want to drop a grand on a casual hobby. The D5100 has everything I want at a price I like, however the size/weight is an issue. Both NEXs have image quality comparable to the D5100, but the F3 lacks a built-in viewfinder and the 5N lacks both a built-in flash and viewfinder.

So basically my question is for people who have gone from an SLR to an NEX; do you find the lack of a built in flash and/or viewfinder restrictive?
Added (1). Are there limitations other than the lack of a viewfinder/flash? I'm not too concerned with lens compatibility since it seems old MF lenses can be readily adapted. Also I don't plan on using an autofocus lens besides the kit 18-55 and probably a prime
Added (2). The lower end NEX models don't have any viewfinder; they are only available as a $2-300 accessory. I'm also not a big fan of EVFs so I probably wouldn't even buy one. I only considered the NEX because image quality is comparable to an SLR, yet it's a fraction of the size, meaning I'd use it more.

Camera offer too good to be true?

Hello all,
I just listed my Nikon D5100 online for $650 and am recieving offers that sound really similar and too good to be true. The guy is willing to pay $650 and is offering 200 dollars for the bag (which is ridiculous since my bag is wort 50 dollars used) but is persistent on doing it through paypal. Now I am not losing money in this scenario but i feel like this is suspicios. Both offers i recieved talk about the customer being abroad and wanting to pay through paypal. Also, I am not sure how they even found my add since Kijjiji works through location based searches and they guy said he's in kansas. Not sure why he can't look for the same camera in his local area :/
