Should I sell my Nikon lens for money to buy a pentax k1000 with 50mm lens?
Well I had my d7000 and 35mm 1.8 lens and I was happy with it until the d7000 got a shutter failure. It would cost a lot to fix, and I don't know if the sensor got damaged too, PLUS it would probably fail again anyway… I don't really know what to do with the broken d7000 BUT the 35mm lens is almost brand new so I could sell it. I was looking on craigslist and I found someone selling a Pentax K1000 with a 50mm lens in "nearly new condition". If I sell my lens I can definitely afford it (it's $75). Is it worth it? I never used a film slr before so I want to try it. Plus I would like to get a sony a7s in the future so I guess I could use the pentax lens with an adapter. I also don't really want to sell my 35mm lens because my brother has a d3100 and I can use it sometimes…
So yea, should i sell my 35mm 1.8 lens for a pentax k1000 with 50mm lens?
Is shooting with film worth it anymore?
I really don't have $75 dollars to be wasting unless I sell my lens.

Sunpak DX 8R Ring Light/Macro Flash compatibility to new dslr?
Did not realize and purchase a Macro flash that was made for film slr cameras
It comes with a Nikon adapter. I have read forums that stated older flash has higher voltage sometimes
I found out the nikon d3100 is a 250 v
the sunpack is 6 volt
but then I also read the the trigger has a different voltage which is usually lower
but I can not find anywhere that tells me the voltage of pc socket on the nikon
any input?

Is a teleconverter lens worth purchasing?
I have a Nikon DSLR camera and was considering purchasing a good telephoto lens. (Which can be very pricey) I found a teleconverter lens for a decent price and was wondering of its worth it? The lens I would use it with is as follows:
Nikon DX
AF-S NIKKOR 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 G
VR
Any recommendations would be helpful.

Nikon 35mm 1.8 lens for Pentax K1000 with 50mm lens?
I'm thinking of trading the nikon 35mm 1.8 lens for a Pentax K1000 slr with 50mm lens? Is it a good idea? My d7000 broke so yea, and I don't really want to borrow my bros d3100 all the time to shoot with it…
Is it a good idea?

Nikon vs Canon - which brand provides better value for lenses?
Please answer the question that's been asked, do not try to read between the lines something that's not there. Asking about lenses only, not cameras or flashes.
I've been an avid user of Nikon DSLRs for a few years. However, I'm finding that I can't find perfect combination of lenses for the kind of shots I'm doing (mostly taking pictures of my toddler, who's constantly moving, most shots done at 6-15ft), and was considering getting a secondary DSLR from Canon, just to try it out.
So, the primary reason for this experiment is to try out the lenses. If you've had both Nikon and Canon in the past, which brand did you prefer, when comparing available options, sharpness (and other factors resulting in picture quality), speed of autofocus, and overall value for money? Anything particular you like or don't like about Canon lenses generally?
Only looking for lenses released past-2005. Primarily, because I want to get every last bit of sharpness out of them (which most older lenses can't provide, since they weren't made for 20MP sensors), and IS is a must. I'm planning to only buy Canon lenses, not Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, etc.
Expecting to spend in the range of $300-400 for zoom (will be buying used, likely just one universal, in the rough range 20-120mm, hopefully something fast and with IS), and maybe $150 or so for primes (also will likely only get single prime, f/1.8-f/2, 35-50mm). My favourite Nikon lens now is 24-85mm VR, though I don't like its semi-slow AF.

Film Photography multiple Exposure?
I was out earlier shooting some images (using a Nikon FE, just in case that helps) when I was testing to see if a switch did as i thought. It did, it allowed me to make a multiple exposure, not advancing the film when I push the film advance lever. Only problem is, I assumed i'd be able to abort it. I spent a little while trying to see what I should do, it seemed as though the only way to make the film advance would be to take another exposure. So gave up and just took another, but I covered my lens (with the lens cap and also my hand) as well as pressing the view finder to my chest in case any light got in that way. I did also put the settings to F22 and 1/1000th for even less possibility of light. I'm assuming that because no new light got in, there wont be any change to the first image? Is this correct? And also if there is a different way to abort making a multiple exposure on a Nikon FE I'd be glad to hear it. Thanks

Can the Nikon d3300 pick up infra red?
I am trying to think of a way to make the night vision on my Nikon d3300 work in dark rooms, it works fine when filming with a source of light nearby such as a lamp post or a light in someone's window but when I take it down into my cellar it doesn't work at all. Now I was thinking if it could pick up infra red the maybe I could strap a light to it and be able to film in those really dark rooms without using a flash light, potentially being unseen, if not does anyone else have any ideas about how I could do this?
