Can I put a different brand lens onto my Dslr?

I have a Sony Dslr A700 and i was just wondering whether I would be able to attach a Nikon or Canon lens onto my camera

Best walk-around lens for a Nikon DX camera?

I asked this question just the other day and got some great answers but im going to ask it in a little bit more of a broad term.Im buying a Nikon d7100 and will be taking college photography lessons soon after.Im not sure as to what specific lenses i will need so im just choosing myself. I have a budget of $800 And need the best lens for multiple situations. I can't decide between a prime or a zoom and with every lens i look up there is always someone giving a contradiction as to why another lens is better. I figure a walk-around lens is best for me since I may be taking photos in doors of pets and the next minute i could be taking sports pictures. I know there is probably not a real all in one lens solution since other lens will do specific ranges better but any recommendations for lens is highly appreciated.

What camera should i go for?

So i don't have that much money to spend but i want a decent dslr camera.i've been doing a research but still can't decide… btw i'm buying it on amazon… is it reliable?
I have in the eye
canon eos rebel t3i for $499
nikon d3100 for $466 or d3200
which one you recommend?

i really can't go for something more than 500 dollars but if there's a better camera for let's say 100 more and you recommend me to buy another one i can raise the money, i mean i just wanna make a good purchase… i'll really appreciate some help

Good Nikon lens for sporting photography?

Ok so i have a Nikon D3200 with the 18-55mm lens
im wanting to take sport photography specifically swimming, diving, and football

i like the lens that came with the camera, its great for portraits and weddings that i've done, but i know i need a slightly better one for sports
i do have a budget im not wanting to go over $600.00

im looking at
Nikon - AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR Telephoto Zoom Lens
Nikon AF-S VR Zoom-NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G IF-ED Telephoto Zoom Lens

i want one that has good zoom, yet can capture mid air shots of divers, some clarity of strokes from swimmers, and un-blurried shots of football plays

so if you think those are good lens or one is better then the other or if you know of a better lens that would help me take the kind of pictures i want better please do help with all info you can

Nikon D3000 autofocus problems!

I have had my D3000 for about two years and I have never came across this problem. I can't take a photo when I'm in any mode besides guide or when I press the AE-L/AF-L button but the photos come out blurry. I have reset my camera and my shooting options but it still won't focus.My focus mode IS on autofocus. I have the original 18-55 mm lens the camera come with and I would like to know if this is a problem I can fix or if I should take it to a shop.

Recently I had a problem with my photos where the bottom half would be black, I figured out it was a mirror problem and I fixed it. Now my autofocus won't work, could these problems be related and can I fix the autofocus problem in a small amount of time?

My Nikon D50 Manual Setting isn't working?

Hi, I have a question about my Nikon D50. I don't have a manual for this camera, so that's why I'm coming to you guys for help! Okay, so my Nikon manual mode says it's in night portrait mode, and my night portrait mode, says it's in macro mode.So I have two macro modes on my camera. I've tried resetting the menu and restoring the factory settings but this did not work. I don't know how this happened. This camera is used, I got it from my sister who gave it to me, and I'm not sure if she did something to it or now. This issues is really annoying, especially when I'm taking photography classes and I'm supposed to be using manual mode. I'm not able to get the pictures I want without it. Please if you have any advice on this issue, share it!

SDXC Not Compatible With Camera?

I Just Bought an SD Card for my camera and when inserted into my camera (Nikon D40) It says "Card is full" I Have Tried formatting the card in disk utility but that doesn't seem to work. I think my Camera may not be compatible with the SD card as it is an SD-XC and more modern.Is there any way I could make it compatible?

By the way, I use a Macbook Pro, 64GB Sandisk SD-XC Card, And A Nikon D40 Camera.
