Ok, I am getting back into photography after 20 or so years and know little about the newer cameras. I just purchased a Nikon D7100 with the 55-300mm lens and need help on one for indoor/low light applications. I'm looking more for a general purpose lens that I can use inside, close range and in low lighting. This is what I'm considering:
Nikon - AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR Telephoto Zoom Lens (Got this with the camera)
Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G AF-S Lens for Nikon DSLR
Any opinions or suggestions? I don't get my camera till Friday and want to make sure I have2 general purposes lenses.

Thanks for the reply. I was actually looking for a 18-55mm but had a bad time finding one in Nikon with AR. The 50mm will be a general purpose but I want something effective in low lighting. I really don't want to spend too much more but I don't want to waste money either.
