Getting a new lens, should I keep my prime?

I have a Nikon D5200 and the Nikorr 35mm f/1.8 AF-S prime lens. So far, it's been wonders for me. But I'm looking to get some new glass, and I'm taking a liking to the Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X116 Pro DX II.

While my prime lens has served me well, I can't fit as much into the frame without having to take several steps back, and sometimes, that's not an option. The prime lens is the only lens I have as I got body only.

That said, as photography is more of an amateur hobby for me, I want to cut down costs as much as possible. Therefore, I am considering selling my prime and just keeping the Tokina as my primary (and only) lens.
