Let me just first state that I'm in no way shape or form a professional photographer! I literally just purchased a Nikon D5100 bundle with the 50mm lens I think. I purchased this camera to be able to take good pics of my 2 kids so that I don't have to pay for pricey photo sessions! Any tips/tricks would be greatly appreciated! I've attached a few links to some of my pics. Also, what would be a good lens to purchase under $300 for this camera.

Added (1). Can someone please explain exposure and what you mean by my pics are over exposed? How do I change that on my camera?
